Steph, Sabrina, Stewart! Stephen Curry trading pins with USA đșđž
On purpose, Steph and KD remain mute when asked for advise on how Celtics players might avoid a repetition
Winning consecutive NBA titles is something that Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are well-versed with.
And they certainly wonât be spilling the beans to their fellow Americans on the Boston Celtics, the current champions.
While speaking to media on Wednesday, just before the 2024 Paris Olympics began, Curry and Durant were asked about their teammates, the Boston Celticsâ Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White, as well as whether or not the three players ever bring up the teamâs recent championship.
âAbsolutely not,â Durant stated with an air of neutrality.
âIt would be wild if [Tatum] every time he walked in just like âthe champ is here!â he announced himself,â said Curry. âThat would be wild behavior.â
âWeâve got champs on the team, theyâre just the most recent ones,â said Durant. But you can see the chemistry between the three of them; theyâre not coming in boasting or anything like that; theyâre just team guys who respect the game. Everything theyâve done is respected, though.
Curry and Durant won consecutive championships with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018, but they have little interest in assisting their new Celtics teammates in achieving the same in 2024â25.âIndeed,â Curry chimed in.
âThey have a great team, so Iâm sure theyâre already thinking about what itâs like to repeat, but itâs tough to do in our league but weâll see what happens,â said Durant.
That is likely the right call, considering that both the Warriors under Curry and the Suns under Durant still have championship hopes for the upcoming season.
