Measuring the Level of the 2020 Ferrari 488 Pista’s Excellence

Ferrari first unveiled its track-focused 488 variant at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2018. Given the moniker “Pista” – which translated from Italian, means “track” – the latest iteration of Ferrari’s mid-engine V8 is faster than ever before and pays homage to the manufacturer’s remarkable motorsports heritage.

You now have the opportunity to acquire a low mileage and almost-new 2020 Ferrari 488 Pista through Collecting Cars. This particular model is finished in Argento Nürburgring with two-tone Nero and Giallo racing stripes, complemented by carbon-fibre front flaps, front air vents, side air splitters, rear diffuser, inner sill trim, under door covers, and ‘Scuderia’ wing shields. It also features 20-inch 10-spoke carbon-fibre wheels, Giallo brake callipers with carbon-ceramic brake discs, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.

The interior is trimmed in Nero Alcantara with Charcoal seat centres, highlighted by exposed matte carbon-fibre door card panels, trim strips, upper centre console, and steering wheel trim. Giallo contrast stripes, accent stitching, and seatbelts, as well as embroidered Giallo ‘Cavallino’ emblems on the seats’ headrests, add a pop of color.

This model comes equipped with several factory-fitted features, including large carbon-fibre racing seats with lifter, carbon-fibre inner sill trims, Alcantara upper and lower dashboard trim, Alcantara seat centres, titanium exhaust pipes, a Giallo rev-counter, suspension lifter, front and rear parking sensors with cameras, a ‘Radionavi’ radio and satellite navigation system with Bluetooth connectivity, interior and exterior electrochromic mirrors, and the Adaptive Frontlight System.

The 488 Pista is powered by a mid-mounted 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 revised engine, which is able to output an impressive 710 horsepower at 8000 rpm and 568 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm thanks to its twin turbo setup. This results in remarkable performance figures, including 0-100 km/h in 2.85 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 7.6 seconds, and a top speed of 340 km/h.

The increase of 49 horsepower and 7 lb-ft of torque compared to the standard 488 GTB model is achieved by borrowing engine parts from the 488 Challenge race car, such as Inconel exhaust manifolds, strengthened pistons, a larger intercooler, and a new camshaft.

The Ferrari 488 Pista is a stunning modern supercar designed for the track, featuring a sensational twin-turbocharged V8, rapid-shifting transmission, and an exceptional chassis. This particular model has only covered 5,752 kilometers from new and is presented in outstanding condition. It would be an excellent addition to any collection of performance-focused vehicles, as well as a thrilling companion for exciting weekend drives and track day sessions.
